A new addition to the family

Wonderful news, we are grandparents again, for the ninth time – Toby arrived today and weighed in at a bouncing 7lb 8oz. Mother and baby doing fine.  I’m sure I’ll have a photo in a few days, but it will be Christmas before we get to meet him.

We went out for a quiet dinner at the Oyster Cove Inn to celebrate, and watched the yachts racing on the channel just outside the bay.  Quite a fresh breeze blowing but the humidity was still very high, even after all the rain this afternoon, at times almost tropical.

We arrived home at dusk, and were treated to a brilliant sunset to the north.

And here is the over/re-painted silk rainbow as promised.

Such luscious colours and textures only achievable with transparent paints.

This is a small part of the quilt I am working on currently.

  1. Congratulations! There is nothing so rewarding as to hug that newborn and then hand him back to his mother when he starts to cry.

  2. Congratulations on being grandpaents again. Hope all are well & thriving.
